Set on a quiet street just kept eyesight to the bank of Red river, May de Ville City Centre is a stylish new addition to thousand year old capital. Incorporating an unique combination of contemporary style and Vietnamese traditional materials which created 81 elegant appointed rooms including 4 suites. May de Ville known as an elegant luxury hotel where comfort and service are accorded the highest priority. Located in the beautiful French colonized part of city center, within walking distance to many historical places and fashionable shopping areas.
Small older hotel in a busy section of this amazingly busy city. We had a basic twin-bed room that was light and airy because we had two large windows. However, we had to keep the windows closed at night due to the considerable traffic noise that reached up to the 8th floor. The triangular-shaped bathtub/shower combo was a bit awkward, and we found it hard to get a consistent water temperature. Good breakfast buffet. The hotel has a large friendly staff who seemed to enjoy the opportunity to practice their English with us.
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Loved the fact that it was on the corner of a couple of very busy intersections. Really enjoyed watching the traffic from the restaurant corner windows -- like nothing I have every seen before. So many scooters. My room was lovely, the breakfast choices were numerous, and the gentleman making the omelets was superb. We stayed in this hotel the first night in Viet Nam and then again for 3 nights about a week later. Loved its location -- so close to so much. Despite the traffic outside, it ws very quiet inside.
This is the first place we stayed after 24+ hours of flying from the US. The room was quite comfortable after we got the AC issue resolved. The staff was super, super, super. Would highly recommend this hotel. Location is ideal for exploring Hanoi & several of the key sights.
Room Tip: If the room doesn't feel as cool as the temperature setting, just ask the front desk to reset...
I cannot compare to other hotels however we were very happy in this hotel for 4 nights. The staff were super friendly and great with the kids. Buffet breakfast was good, lots of western and Asian choices. Not in the centre of the old quarter, a 20 minute walk, however enjoyed not being the crowded old quarter area.
We just finished a 10 day trip to Hanoi and we stayed at this hotel 6 nights in total. The hotel is lovely, and clean, and very convenient to the lake and old quarter sights and sounds. However the best thing about the hotel is the staff, especially Ruby who works on the front desk. She was so very helpful to us when we had an issue (not related to the hotel or service). She was always welcoming and friendly, as were her coworkers, and we would happily stay here again! The hotel also stored our bags when we went on overnight tours, which was a very helpful.
